Prompted Work

This is a collection of the numerous pieces written during my education at the University of Denver. This page shares with you the different formats and genres of the different academic worlds that I explored throughout my academic career.

A Cognitive Neuroscience Approach on Perception

This paper was required for my elective of perception in cognitive neuroscience. This paper was written to analyze the way that humans perceive biological vs non-biological motion.  I questioned the importance of this matter in my piece and ultimately offered a conclusion based on what I learned throughout the course

A Forgotten Generation

This piece was written in my literary inquiry class.  I aimed to clearly define the legal details that DACA entails. I wrote this piece for my class in Literary Inquiry that questioned the rhetoric behind modern day political rulings.

Biological Digestion Lab Report

This is an example of weekly lab reports that were due to suffice graduation requirements for my minor in biology. I chose to include this piece in my portfolio to exhibit the variety of writing I completed at the University of Denver.

Schizophrenia: Living With This Disorder

This is one of my personal favorite pieces that I have written in the category of prompted work.  In my Abnormal Psychology class we were responsible for picking a disorder from the Diagnostic Statistic Manual and provide a detailed description of it.  I chose the disorder of schizophrenia since I found its complexities to be fascinating.

The Color Peace Revision

This Piece was executed in my capstone class for my writing minor.  I initially wrote the color piece in my creative writing class with Natalie Rogers (see original version on course description page).  This piece is a complete reconstruction of the genre and style of my initial poem.  I aimed to construct the events that occurred prior to those in the poem.

Positive Thinking: Therapeutic Approaches

Therapy has always been a dominant part of my life.  It was often a negative experience in which we simply discussed what was wrong with me. This piece was written in my psychology class in order to emphasize the importance of emphasizing the good qualities and spending less time on the negative ones.

Eminem's Public Protest: Donald Trump

I first started this piece at the beginning of my Communication course that I took at my third year at the University.  This piece discussed the rappers freestyle diss-track that he dropped shortly after Donald Trumps Inauguration. In it, I questioned the intended audience as well as its beneficial and detrimental consequences.

The Importance of Point of View: Fiction

I executed this piece in my Advanced Seminar Class: Outsiders of Italian Fiction.  In this class we read three Italian fictional novels.  Throughout each novel, I noticed how the reader can only see out of the eyes of the narrator of the story.  Therefore, the storyline could be interpreted in a different manner if the audience can obtain multiple perspectives.
